Embracing your strengths can help you reach your biggest goals and most difficult challenges.
Let’s talk some more about one of the many ways in which we can identify those strengths, and that is through focusing on your achievements.
We’ll do a short exercise to help you meditate on your achievements and use them to your advantage. You can do this in your head, or even write your answers on a piece of paper.
To start, let’s think of a recent achievement or success you had. This could be big, like graduating from a program or starting a business, or it could be smaller, like trying a new recipe or even making time to exercise.
Think about that achievement and tell me, what made this positive outcome happen? Which of your personal traits contributed to this success?
Now, reflect on those traits you wrote down and ask yourself this: Did acting with these traits seem natural? Effortless? Energizing?
Chances are that when you consider your many achievements, you will start noticing a pattern of one or several strengths that seem to come naturally to you. They tend to show up at times to help you achieve your goals or overcome a challenge.
Observe how these useful patterns or tendencies show up in your daily life as you work on your tasks at work or at home. Often, these traits are so natural to us that we don’t even notice them!
But, becoming aware of these natural and effortless tendencies may be the key to identifying your personal strengths and unlocking your potential to be your absolute best!
